Dr. Rajeev Garg

Dr. Rajeev Garg

Dr. Rajeev Garg is an interventional cardiologist with Heart One Associates who specializes in advanced heart failure, complex coronary procedures specifically radial artery catheterization & structural Heart disease.

He is board certified in interventional cardiology, nuclear cardiology, echocardiography, and cardiovascular disease. He attended Dr S.N Medical college, India for Doctor of Medicine; completed training in Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston; Fellowship in Cardiovascular Diseases at the University of Missouri-Columbia followed by Fellowship in Interventional cardiology at Lahey Clinic in Boston, Massachusetts.

Dr. Garg serves as Chairman of Cardiology at Banner Estrella Medical Center and Vice Chairman of Cardiology at Abrazo West Campus. While he remains focused on providing compassionate patient centered care in the Greater Phoenix Metropolitan Area, he regularly trains new physicians as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at both Midwestern University and University of Arizona.

Throughout his career, he has published dozens of peer-reviewed articles and recently served as the co-investigator for Banner’s CardioMEMS pilot project.  He has been recognized by Phoenix Magazine as a Top Doc for 2019.

In addition to his professional endeavors, Dr. Garg enjoys playing racquetball and spending time with his beloved wife and son.

Dr. Rajkumar Sugumaran

Dr. Rajkumar Sugumaran is an Interventional cardiologist at Heart One Associates who specializes in complex coronary artery disease, peripheral arterial and venous disease, advanced heart failure, and structural heart disease.

He completed his undergraduate degree (Bachelor of Arts) in Economics at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He returned to his hometown of Dayton, OH and graduated from Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at the Ohio State University in Columbus, OH, Cardiology fellowship at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA and Interventional Cardiology fellowship at the University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ. He then pursued his peripheral vascular training in Leipzig, Germany.

He is board certified in Internal medicine, Cardiovascular disease, Interventional cardiology, Echocardiography, and Nuclear Cardiology. He has been practicing in Phoenix since 2012. He currently serves as Chair of Cardiology at Banner Thunderbird Medical Center.

He enjoys traveling, sports, singing, and spending time with his amazing wife and two children.

Dr. Sanjoy Bhattacharya

Dr. Sanjoy Bhattacharya

Dr. Sanjoy Bhattacharya is a cardiac electrophysiologist at Heart One Associates and completed his undergraduate degree (Bachelor of Science) in Biomedical Engineering at Duke University. He pursued his Masters degree in engineering at the University of Vermont where he worked closely with the Department of Molecular Biology and Biophysics to pursue research interests in muscle physiology. He then attended Dartmouth Medical School in Hanover, New Hampshire for Doctor of Medicine; completed training in Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern at Dallas; Fellowship in both Cardiovascular Diseases and Cardiac Electrophysiology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Bhattacharya has been practicing Cardiology and Cardiac Electrophysiology in the Phoenix area since 2011. He performs advanced ablation for complex rhythm disturbances and specializes in pacemaker and defibrillator implantation.

Dr. Bhattacharya enjoys racquetball and squash. He has remained a loyal Duke Blue Devil and tries to keep up with Duke basketball. He enjoys doing Math and English homework with his three daughters. His busy work day is balanced by the quality time he spends with his beautiful wife and three amazing children.

Dr. Sanjay Shankar

Dr. Sanjay Shankar is an interventional cardiologist with Heart One Associates and he specializes in coronary artery catheterizations, complex cardiac procedures and heart failure management.  Dr. Shankar focuses on the treatment and prevention of heart disease with a special interest in medical oncology.

He is board certified in general cardiology, interventional cardiology and nuclear cardiology. Dr. Shankar completed his medical residency and fellowship training in cardiology and interventional cardiology from the University of Pittsburgh (UPMC). Shankar also has a Masters degree in medical management from Carnegie Mellon University.

Dr. Shankar had been practicing in the valley for the last 2 years and prior to that was practicing in Ohio. He has served in many administrative roles including the chairman of medicine at Trinity Health System in Ohio.  During his career and training Dr. Shankar has worked with pioneers and national leaders in the field of cardiovascular disease at the Ohio State University, Duke University and UPMC.

Over the years, his work has been published in many top peer cardiology journals. During his career he has also contributed book chapters that have been published in medical books. Research work done by Dr Shankar and other co-contributors in understanding the mechanisms behind heart attacks has resulted in a US Patent that is currently held by Duke University.

Dr. Shankar lives in the Glendale area with his wife and 3 children. Dr Shankar enjoys traveling, landscape photography and tennis.

Sharon Dickinson PA

Sharon Dickinson, PA-C

Sharon Dickinson graduated in 2007 with a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon. She immediately began her career specializing in Cardiology. Compelled by her passion for the field, she has earned the designation of Associate of American College of Cardiology (AACC). She has proudly served (and continues to serve) as a representative for the Cardiovascular team on multiple National Committees within the American College of Cardiology. Sharon has a special interest and has spent much of her career focusing on Advanced Heart Failure. She believes, “everything we do is for the patient and their family” and “our primary goal is to use evidence-based care to help our patients achieve the best quality of life for as long as possible”.
