Jenna Volstromer, NP

Jenna Volstromer completed her training as an adult nurse practitioner in 2016 at the University of Missouri. She has always been passionate about cardiology and has spent the past eight years working in various cardiac-related fields as a registered nurse or nurse practitioner. Jenna takes great pride in her ability to treat her patients’ cardiac issues while remaining compassionate toward their emotional needs. She enjoys traveling, hiking, and spending time with her fiancé when she is not caring for her patients.

Cindy Archer, AGACNP-BC

Board Certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner

Cindy Archer completed her Post-Master’s Acute Care Nurse Practitioner – Adult Gerontology program in April 2017 at Grand Canyon University in AZ, and received ANCC board certification in June 2017. Prior to that she worked as an RN for over 16 years in the acute care setting, including at Banner University Medical Center in the post-cardiothoracic surgery progressive care unit. She received a Master of Science degree in Nursing Leadership from California State University, Fullerton in 2012. She has a passion for the field of cardiology, and has worked as a cardiology nurse practitioner since 2017, joining Heart One Associates in May, 2020. She is dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care to her patients with a special interest in patient education. She is originally from New Jersey, then lived in southern California for 22 years, and moved to Arizona in October, 2015. In her spare time, she likes spending time with family, walking, reading, and watching football.

Tasneem Huda, PA-C

Tasneem Huda graduated in May of 2020 with a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Mercer University in Atlanta, Georgia. She has always had a passion for cardiology. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants. Tasneem enjoys providing compassionate medical care, listening to patients’ stories, and helping patients understand and become actively involved in the treatment process. She values evidence-based medicine, cardiac disease prevention, and lifestyle change and is passionate about improving access to quality healthcare. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with her friends and family.

Nathan Van De Graaff, PA-C

Board Certified Physician Assistant

Nathan Van De Graaff graduated in 2023 with a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Midwestern University in Glendale AZ. Nathan always had a passion for cardiology and was thrilled to be able to work at Heart One Associates. He previously worked in physical therapy and has a strong focus of preventative care and is an advocate for promoting physical and mental health. Nathan was previously resided in Utah and attended Utah Valley University before becoming a resident of Arizona. He lived several years in South America where he became fluent in Spanish. Additionally, he came from Deaf parents and is fluent in American Sign Language. He enjoys spending time with his wife and triplet girls. He spends his weekends exploring new trails in Arizona and playing Pickleball.

Allyson Garcia, PA-C

Board Certified Physician Assistant

Allyson Garcia graduated with her Master of Medical Sciences in Physician Assistant Studies from Midwestern University in May 2023. Originally from Anaheim Hills, CA, Allyson moved to Texas to play 4 years of college soccer at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology. After finishing college, she moved to Arizona where she began her career in medicine as a Nursing Assistant. She is passionate about patient-centered care with the use of evidence-based medicine. When Allyson is not working, she is spending time with her fiancé with 2 dogs. For fun, Allyson enjoys running, reading, and cooking.

Kate Freeman, MSN, AGACNP-BC

Kate Freeman graduated in 2016 with her Master of Science in Nursing from Grand Canyon University where she completed her training as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. Kate grew up under the big skies of Montana. She relocated to Arizona in 2012 after graduating Cum Laude from Montana State University with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Prior to pursuing her advanced practice degree, Kate worked in the East Valley as a registered nurse caring for complex cardiac patients.

Since graduation, Kate has specialized in the management of heart rhythms and devices. She has particular interest in the management of atrial fibrillation. Kate is a strong advocate for patient education and is dedicated to providing evidence-based, patient-centered care to every patient at Heart One. Kate is an active member of the American College of Cardiology (ACC) and Heart Rhythm Society (HRS).

When she is not caring for patients, Kate enjoys traveling, trying new recipes, and spending time with her husband and their two children.

Wishma Senarath, PA-C

Wishma Senarath graduated summa cum laude with a Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Midwestern University in May 2024.

There, her dedication to service was recognized with the Outstanding Service Award. She chose to pursue a career in cardiology, drawn by the field’s emphasis on evidence-based medicine. Originally from sunny southern California, she moved to even sunnier Arizona for her graduate program and has enjoyed exploring the state since.

Outside the office, she enjoys hiking, camping, and playing ultimate frisbee.

Patrick Paredes, PA-C

Patrick Paredes graduated in 2024 with a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Midwestern University. Patrick was born and raised in Washington and attended Washington State University where he graduated with honors with a bachelor’s degree in microbiology. Patrick has worked in many different roles in medicine before becoming a PA, including being both a medical and nursing assistant. Through these roles, Patrick has recognized the importance of patient-centered care, and proper education so that patients can feel confident in their decisions. When not at work Patrick enjoys playing pickleball and exploring new restaurants.

Marlee Fitts PA-C

Marlee Fitts graduated with her Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Midwestern University in May 2025. Originally from Nevada where she graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with a bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience, her interest in cardiology sparked while working as a medical assistant in a cardiology practice.

She moved to Arizona for graduate school where she found her passion for patient-centered care and the use of evidence-based medicine, both of which she is dedicated to bringing to patients at Heart One Associates. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, swimming, and spending time with friends and family.

Meriem Allahwerdy, PA-C, M.S.

Board Certified Physician Assistant

Meriem Allahwerdy completed her Physician Assistant training at Northern Arizona University in 2025, graduating Summa Cum Laude. Before pursuing her PA studies, she earned her Master’s degree in Biotechnology from Johns Hopkins University in 2021, also Summa Cum Laude, after completing her undergraduate degree at Arizona State University.

Originally from Iraq, Meriem moved to Arizona in 2010 and is fluent in both English and Arabic. Her multicultural background has shaped her appreciation for diversity in healthcare and strengthened her ability to connect with patients from all walks of life. She is dedicated to providing evidence-based, patient-centered care and is passionate about empowering patients through education and shared decision-making.

When she is not caring for patients, Meriem enjoys traveling, spending quality time with family and friends, and staying active through Pilates. She also has a strong interest in fitness and nutrition, valuing the role of healthy living in overall wellbeing. Meriem believes that finding joy and balance outside of work enhances the compassionate care she provides in the clinic.

Diana Cai, PA-C

Diana Cai completed her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA, in 2025. She is from Gilbert, Arizona, and attended Arizona State University, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry in 2020. Diana discovered her passion for cardiology while working as a Nursing Assistant and volunteering throughout the Phoenix Valley. These experiences inspired her strong focus on patient education and her commitment to empowering individuals to take an active role in their health. She is especially excited to serve the community she calls home. In her free time, Diana enjoys reading, exploring Arizona’s scenic trails, traveling the world, and spending time with her family and dogs.

Rosa Gomez, MSN, FNP-C

Rosa Gomez is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner through the AANP. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from United States University in 2023, graduating Magna Cum Laude. After graduating Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Northern Arizona University in 2020, she worked as a Registered Nurse in the Cardiac Telemetry unit, Endovascular lab, and Med/Surg Telemetry unit. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, the Arizona Nurses Association, the American Nurses Association, and the Sigma International Honor Society of Nursing.

With over 15 years of experience in healthcare, she has a passion for cardiology and comprehensive patient care. Rosa is dedicated to providing personalized, evidence-based, and preventative care through collaborative partnerships with her patients. Fluent in both English and Spanish, she values open communication and cultural understanding as essential to achieving optimal health outcomes. Driven by her desire to serve the community, she strives to empower patients with the knowledge and support they need to lead heart-healthy lives.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three children. She also likes the outdoors, traveling, movies, and trying new cuisines.

David Castillo, ACNP-BC

David F. Castillo, a native of Grand Rapids, Michigan, received his Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He worked at Banner Thunderbird Medical Center and the Phoenix VA in Cardiology for over 4 years as a RN. He received his Master’s of Science in Nursing degree from Saint Louis University.

He worked in the Critical Care department at Tucson Medical Center and with a private Neurosurgery practice at Banner University as a NP. David has worked as a Cardiology NP since 2013. He enjoys spending time with his wife and kids, in addition to playing Tennis, Golf, and going hunting. He is passionate about providing individualized high quality Cardiology services

Travis Nye, DNP, FNP-C

Travis grew up in Iowa and relocated to Arizona in 2012 after earning his Associate Degree in Nursing from Indian Hills Community College. He began his nursing career at Banner Boswell Medical Center on a stroke and seizure unit, where he developed a strong foundation in neurological care. While working full time, he completed his Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2019 and went on to earn his Doctor of Nursing Practice in 2024 from Arizona State University. Travis is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

Travis has enjoyed expanding his clinical experience from neurology into cardiology and is especially committed to patient education. He values taking the time to answer questions and ensure patients feel informed and confident in their care.

Outside of work, Travis is grateful for time spent with his family and especially enjoys traveling and being outdoors together.
